Courtney Nickels
Chief Operating Officer, Healthcare
Ms. Nickels serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Healthcare business at Artemis, where she is responsible for executing strategy, improving operational efficiency, performance monitoring, aiding investment decisions, managing the team and relationships with key stakeholders, and seeking revenue growth opportunities. Ms. Nickels also maintains transactional responsibilities including acquisition of core-plus and value-add equity investments, debt origination, and asset management. Ms. Nickels joined Artemis in January 2018 and is based in Atlanta, GA.
Previously, Ms. Nickels served in an acquisitions role for Formation Capital, most recently as a Vice President. She was involved in closing over $1.8 billion in transactions while with Formation. Prior to 2012, she worked in real estate acquisitions and development across all major asset classes including healthcare, first as an acquisitions Analyst for The JBG Companies and later as an Associate in the US Fund Investment Management group for J.E. Robert Companies (JER Partners).
Ms. Nickels attended the University of Virginia, where she received a BS in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Management from the McIntire School of Commerce and continues to be involved with the school. Ms. Nickels has served on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committees for both Artemis and the National Investment Center for the Senior Housing and Care Industry (NIC). Ms. Nickels also served as Vice-Chair of the Future Leaders Council for NIC. Ms. Nickels is currently an active council member with the Urban Land Institute.
