Deborah L. Harmon
Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer, Artemis Real Estate Partners
Deborah Harmon co-founded Artemis Real Estate Partners in 2009 with Former Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. As an industry leader and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience, she has guided the firm since inception. She has oversight responsibility for the firm, establishing and managing the firm’s strategic direction.

Before founding Artemis, Ms. Harmon spent 17 years building and leading the principal investing business at J.E. Robert Companies, Inc., a global real estate investment firm where she was President and Chief Investment Officer from 1997 to 2007.

Currently, Ms. Harmon serves on the Board of Directors of Starwood Property Trust [NYSE: STWD]. She is a Class C Director for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. She is also Chairperson of the Pension Real Estate Association Foundation and sits on the boards of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity and Urban Alliance. She holds advisory positions with Park Madison Partners, and the BlackIvy Group, and she is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Her previous board service includes Forest City Enterprises [NYSE: FCE] and Avis Group Holdings [NYSE: AVI], the Pension Real Estate Association, trustee of the Urban Land Institute, and the Executive Committee of Women for Women International.

Ms. Harmon also has served on the Advisory Board for the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and the Boards of Trustees for The Sidwell Friends School, The National Cathedral Elementary School, and The National Children’s Research Center in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Harmon’s government service includes her appointment by President Obama to serve as a Commissioner for the White House Fellows program.

She was awarded PERE’s 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award, she was named one of PERE's 100 Most Influential in private equity real estate from the past decade in 2025, appeared on Barron’s inaugural list of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance in 2020, and was named by EY as an Entrepreneur of the Year® 2019 Mid-Atlantic Award winner and recognized as a National Finalist. She was included in Real Estate Forum’s Women of Influence Hall of Fame in 2018.

Ms. Harmon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
