Mr. Joe Carter is a Managing Director and acts as the company’s senior level strategic resource on lending relationships, new financings, and workouts, including leading the asset management efforts on designated workout assignments.

Joe joins Artemis from Wells Fargo Bank, where he was the Southeast Division Manager for the Real Estate Banking Group. With team members located in Washington, DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale, Joe was responsible for balance sheet lending in addition to delivering fee related business from product lines such as CMBS, agency lending, treasury management to real estate developers, owners, and operators within the Southeast Region. Prior to his 21 years with Wells Fargo, Joe spent 12 years with Wachovia Bank in Atlanta and Washington, DC.

Joe received an MBA from the University of Georgia in Real Estate and Corporate Finance and a BS from Wake Forest University in Business. He is a former board member of the Washington Airport Task Force, former Chairman of the Board of George Mason University’s Center for Real Estate and Entrepreneurship and a member of the Urban Land Institute.
